Mustard Tree, located in the Ancoats area of Manchester, is known predominantly as a homelessness charity, but it does far more than provide emergency aid to people sleeping rough in the city. Among its many offers is the Freedom Project, a programme that provides training in everything from English to IT to catering to art.
The project is open to anyone aged 18 or over who can commit at least 16 hours per week, with exceptions made for those with caring responsibilities or other extenuating circumstances, and who understands sufficient English to follow health and safety guidelines.
“The Freedom Project is a training opportunity where you can learn new skills, find work and build confidence,” explains Mustard Tree’s website. “A safe space for all, we focus on employability training, gaining skills and addressing money worries.”
